1. Calamari Network has won the 86th parachain auction on Kusama

Calamari Network has won the 86th parachain auction on Kusama by self-funding 500 KSM worth ~13k USD. But it didn´t happen without a portion of a drama.

There is not just a space for good news in the Polkadot ecosystem. On May 31, 2023, the Calamari Network experienced a block production halt due to the expiration of its parachain lease on Kusama, resulting in temporary suspension of private transactions and zkSBT mints.

Funds remain secure, and the team actively participated in a bidding process for a new lease. By winning the 86th auction, the process of restoring the Network’s functionality began and now the Network is fully functional again.

2. Deutsche Telekom joins Energy Web Foundation to drive Web3 solutions for the energy sector

Deutsche Telekom has partnered with the Energy Web Foundation to bring Web3 technology solutions to the energy sector. As a validator and infrastructure operator, Deutsche Telekom enhances network security for the Energy Web Chain, the world’s first public blockchain for the energy industry.

This collaboration promotes a decentralized, digitalized, and decarbonized energy system, enabling transparency in green product supply chains and networking small-scale clean energy assets. By leveraging Web 3 technology, Deutsche Telekom aims to combat climate change, secure energy grids, and accelerate the transition to renewable energy.

With the Energy Web ecosystem encompassing major utilities, grid operators, renewable energy developers, and technology leaders, this collaboration underscores the critical role of established industry players in driving the digital transformation of the energy sector.

3. Phala Network introduces Phat Contract, revolutionizing Web3 app development

Phat Contract is the program running off-chain on Phala Network that developers can use to implement a broad range of features for their dApps. With a no-code experience, developers can deploy applications effortlessly using pre-defined blueprints or customize contracts based on their needs.

Phat Contract offers omnichain compatibility. It supports all EVM-compatible chains like Ethereum, BSC, and layer-2 chains such as Polygon and StarkNet. Additionally, it is compatible with Substrate-based chains like Polkadot, Moonbeam, and Astar.

Furthermore, Phat Contract enables multi-language execution, supporting popular programming languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, and Rust.

Phat Contract also facilitates Oracle integration, allowing developers to bridge the gap between the Web2 and Web3 worlds. With the ability to connect any API from the Web2 universe to the Web3 ecosystem, developers can access and utilize external data in their smart contracts.

The combination of omnichain compatibility, multi-language execution, and Oracle integration makes Phat Contract a powerful tool for developers seeking to build innovative and feature-rich Web3 applications. Whether it’s deploying on different blockchains, utilizing diverse programming languages, or accessing external data sources, Phat Contract empowers developers to unlock the full potential of the decentralized ecosystem.

4. New HRMP channels are open between HydraDX x Moonbeam and Equilibrium x Composable

HydraDX and Moonbeam have joined hands to introduce cross-chain token transfers between their parachains, providing enhanced liquidity routing within the Polkadot ecosystem. This integration enables seamless transfers of HDX and GLMR tokens and strengthens Moonbeam’s position as a key hub for liquidity distribution.

In another collaboration, Equilibrium and Composable Finance have integrated the XCM protocol, establishing a bi-directional HRMP (Horizontal Relay-chain Message Passing) channel. This integration expands the capabilities for asset transfers and utilization, fostering greater interoperability and synergy between the two ecosystems.

5. Dock Certs enable seamless delivery of Verifiable Credentials via email

Dock, the decentralized platform for issuing and managing verifiable credentials, has introduced an exciting new feature for Dock Certs. With this feature, users can now send verifiable credentials directly to the recipient’s email address.

During the issuance process, simply enter the recipient’s email, and Certs will automatically generate and email them a Credential Import QR Code. By scanning the QR Code using their Dock Wallet Apps, recipients can seamlessly import the credential, ensuring a convenient and efficient process for sharing and managing credentials.

6. Crust Network Empowers Decentralized Storage on Shardeum: Seamlessly Store Data Across Blockchains

Crust Network is revolutionizing decentralized storage and hosting on the IPFS network. With its guaranteed, immutable, and decentralized storage solutions, Crust empowers developers and end-users to utilize scalable storage resources with an exceptional user experience. Seamlessly integrated with various blockchains, Crust supports popular use cases like Dapps hosting, NFT metadata storage, and general file storage.

Shardeum, users can now leverage Crust’s storage services via a dedicated cross-chain contract, enabling frictionless and permissionless data storage. Shardeum is an EVM-based L1 blockchain that uses dynamic state sharding to increase TPS with every new node.

7. Centrifuge partners with SubQuery to enhance DeFi lending and index Real-World Asset pools

Centrifuge joins forces with SubQuery, a blockchain developer toolkit, to index Real World Asset (RWA) pools on Centrifuge Chain. SubQuery’s indexing capability allows for historical performance analysis, transaction reports, and tax purposes.

The collaboration will enhance transparency and scalability in decentralized finance. Centrifuge also plans to leverage SubQuery’s EVM support to index data from other chains, fostering liquidity across multiple networks. This partnership signifies a significant step towards the development of a robust and interconnected DeFi ecosystem.
