1. Basilisk has won the 81st parachain auction on Kusama

Basilisk has won the 81st parachain auction on Kusama by self-funding 99 KSM worth ~2.7k USD. Basilisk already had won auctions #8 and #47 in the past.

Basilisk is a community-focused, decentralized protocol that democratizes decision-making processes. It enables permissionless liquidity on Kusama, allowing users to swap tokens, flip NFTs, and earn rewards while supporting new projects with liquidity bootstrapping.

Users can also provide liquidity and earn extra farming incentives on top of trading fees.

2. Deloitte integrates KILT blockchain technology to streamline identity verification processes for KYC and KYB

The KILT Protocol has received a massive endorsement from Deloitte, one of the big four consulting firms with a $60 billion revenue, and 415,000 professionals in over 700 locations globally!

The partnership aims to streamline the traditional process of verifying identity and business credentials, by generating reusable KYC (Know Your Customer) and KYB (Know Your Business) credentials that give customers control over their sensitive information.

Deloitte provides the credential wallet in the form of a browser extension, which is easy to set up and use. The credentials are digitally signed by Deloitte and can be revoked using blockchain technology if the customer’s circumstances change. The development is an exciting advancement in the Web3 space, demonstrating the potential of blockchain technology for regulatory compliance and e-commerce.

This news was announced at the Decentralized Lugano one-day conference organized by Scytale Digital.

3. Apillon integrates KILT Protocol’s decentralized authentication for Web3 projects

Apillon, a Web3 platform, has announced plans to integrate a next-generation Web3 authentication service powered by the KILT Protocol. The decentralized digital authentication and verification will enable developers to seamlessly integrate their projects with wallet-based authentication and equip digital assets with Decentralized Identifiers (DIDs).

Web3 Authentication is one of the essential services required by developers to build decentralized projects from start to finish, and the KILT Protocol integration will allow Apillon users to create a DID, store it in their wallet and log in securely while maintaining total control over their data.

4. Aventus and Energy Web partner to launch Energy Web X using parachain-as-a-service

Web3 solutions provider Aventus has partnered with non-profit Energy Web to launch Energy Web X, a decentralized technology aimed at decarbonizing the grid. Using its parachain-as-a-service offering, Aventus will enable Energy Web to launch Energy Web X, a parachain compatible with Relay chains such as Polkadot.

Aventus will also deploy its Gateway API, Block Explorer, and Governance Application to provide scalability, speed, interoperability, transparency and decentralization to the Energy Web ecosystem. As part of the partnership, Aventus will become a validator in Energy Web’s ecosystem, providing a managed service for any further validators.

Alan Vey, Founder & CEO, Aventus, stated: “We couldn’t be more excited to begin working with Energy Web. Its mission to use open-source Web3 technologies to help companies navigate and accelerate the energy transition is an incredibly important use case of blockchain, and we’re thrilled to be able to help make it more accessible and seamless.”

8. Interlay Labs proposes BRC-21 standard for deploying stablecoins on Lightning Network

Interlay Labs has proposed a new BRC-21 standard that will allow the creation and redemption of BRC-20 tokens in a fully decentralized and cross-chain manner. BRC-21 will enable the creation of L1 assets, including Ethereum, Solana, Polkadot or Interlay, on the Bitcoin network.

The technical requirements for the standard include a custom indexer, a SOURCE chain contract, and a BTC-Relay. The primary use case for BRC-21 will be deploying decentralized stablecoins onto Lightning Network, since these protocols require complex mint, redeem, and liquidation mechanisms to retain their peg.

Interlay Labs hopes to increase Bitcoin’s adoption by connecting innovations from other chains with the product-driven adoption of Bitcoin. BRC-21 tokens will follow strict mint and redeem rules, eliminating the need to impose limits on the number of tokens minted in a single transaction.
