Weekly News from Polkadot & Kusama #156
1. Polkadot’s canary network Kusama sets new standard for blockchain speed with 128k TPS during the Spammening
Kusama, Polkadot’s canary network, achieved a jaw-dropping 128,184 transactions per second (TPS) during the Spammening — a revolutionary stress test on its live blockchain mainnet.
This record-breaking event showcased Kusama’s resilience and scalability, solidifying its role as a testing ground for Polkadot’s cutting-edge innovations.
Unlike traditional testnets, Kusama operates as a live network, making this feat a monumental step in blockchain performance testing and real-world readiness.
2. Bifrost completes migration of collators to Polkadot
Bifrost has officially migrated from Bifrost-Kusama to Bifrost-Polkadot, marking a major milestone in decentralization and efficiency. The new system empowers collators to lead block production on Polkadot, strengthening the network.
And of course, we are part of it. So the Bifrost-Polkadot collator, named POLKADOTTERS, is live and ready for action. Support our BNC collator to help us sustain this next-level blockchain infrastructure.
3. AAVE joins the Omnipool: A milestone for Hydration and Nova Wallet
AAVE has officially landed in the Omnipool, marking a major step for Hydration. As the first tradable ERC-20 token on Hydration via Polkadot’s trustless Snowbridge, AAVE brings new possibilities to decentralized trading.
Nova Wallet users can now seamlessly manage and swap AAVE tokens directly within the app. This integration highlights the growing synergy between Polkadot’s Snowbridge and DeFi innovations.
4. PING joins peaq ecosystem, empowering gamers with decentralized cloud services
PING, a decentralized physical infrastructure network (DePIN) for gaming computers, has joined the peaq ecosystem. With its dedicated PING laptop powered by NVIDIA RTX4070, PING enables gamers to monetize idle computing resources. This decentralized cloud service supports tasks like AI training, crypto mining, and online game development. As part of the integration, PING laptops can be purchased with stablecoins on peaq, minted as NFTs, and equipped with self-sovereign peaq IDs.
5. 1-click cross-chain swaps on Nova Wallet: Effortless asset transfers on Android
Cross-chain swaps have never been easier! With the new 1-click feature of Nova Wallet now live on Android, you can seamlessly swap assets across 872+ cross-chain channels and access 180+ tokens.
Say goodbye to complicated processes and hello to stress-free transactions. This revolutionary tool simplifies multi-chain navigation, letting users focus on managing their assets without hassle. The future of decentralized finance is just one click away.
6. Hackathon breakthrough: Automated UI generation for Polkadot
Imagine Polkadot generating all possible UIs and picking the best one — this is now a reality! Built during a hackathon by Karim Jedda & team, this project leverages Polkadot’s Runtime Metadata to feed LLMs, auto-generating tailored UIs for actions like setting remarks or multi-balance transfers.
These UIs respect chain logic, constraints, and existential deposits. Plans include open-sourcing the tool and offering a hosted version for developers. The future of blockchain interactions just got smarter!
