1. Historic 1st Coretime slot on Polkadot sold for 69 DOT on RegionX, Agile Coretime era begins
A historical moment for Polkadot has recently occurred as the first Coretime slot was sold for 69 DOT. This milestone marks the beginning of an exciting new phase of Agile Coretime, with future slots expected to be sold out swiftly.
At the time of writing, another 4 cores have been sold at an average price of 52.6 DOT. DOT from Coretime sales are getting burned.
2. Web3 Foundation introduced the Decentralized Nodes program for Polkadot validators
Web3 Foundation recently announced the launch of the Decentralized Nodes program, aimed at empowering validators within the Polkadot ecosystem. This initiative enhances decentralization, security, and operational efficiency.
Validators can apply until October 31st, 2024, to receive nominations from the Web3 Foundation, gaining visibility and staking rewards. Validators will be selected based on their technical expertise, reliability, decentralization, and engagement with the ecosystem
Appointed Validators will participate for a four-month term beginning in November 2024, with the possibility of renewal based on performance.
3. DOT inflation set to decrease to 8% following approval of referendum 1139
The approval of Referendum 1139 marks a significant milestone for the Polkadot ecosystem, as it signals a reduction in DOT inflation to 8% in the first year, gradually decreasing after that. By decisively rejecting competing proposals, this referendum also establishes a fixed 15% Treasury inflow from total inflation.
While non-binding, this vote reflects the sentiment of token holders for future on-chain changes, shaping the economic landscape of Polkadot.
4. Mythos Chain hits +1M active wallets & reaches 843 TPS during migration
Polkadot’s parachain infrastructure impressively handled over 800 TPS during DMarket’s migration to Mythos Chain, which recently surpassed 1 million active wallets. With the migration set to conclude on Monday, Mythos Chain is expected to reach over 5–6 million wallets, having processed 73,7 million transactions on 3rd October 2024 — equivalent to 843 TPS.
This performance showcases Polkadot’s robust scalability, handling far greater throughput than Ethereum and Base, making it a future-ready solution for blockchain growth.
5. 10 million MYTH airdropped to 450k+ Polkadot Asset Hub wallets

Moonbeam experienced a net inflow of $1,8M over the last 7 days, with the majority coming from Ethereum, which contributed $1,23M making up 67% of the total inflows.
According to Wormhole Scan, other significant contributions came from Base, with $480k (26.38%), and Solana, with $63k (3.47%).
This surge highlights Moonbeam’s growing appeal as a multi-chain smart contract platform, drawing liquidity from major networks across the blockchain ecosystem.

Permanence DAO, with Polkadotters as one of the initial members, launches to drive transparent and sustainable governance in Polkadot.
The Permanence DAO, a newly formed global collective dedicated to the growth of Polkadot, officially launched on September 29th, 2024. Founded by Helikon Labs and Polkadot Music Events Initiative (PMEI), the DAO includes other former DVs (besides Kukabi from Helikon Labs) such as Polkadotters, Ezio Rojas, or William. Rest of the members are The Ionian Group (Jeeper from OpenGov.watch & his partner Beckett), José Rabasso, PolkaBiz, Transistor and OpenSquare.
With a focus on value-driven decisions, transparency and sustainability, the Permanence DAO aims to be active in OpenGov and to further decentralize the Polkadot network with own validator on Polkadot and Kusama.
