1. AmsterDOT conference took place in Amsterdam

The first and the biggest Polkadot conference from 2020 just ended in Amsterdam. Four days of conference & hacking sessions were organized by the HydraDX team and many leading projects of the Polkadot and Kusama ecosystems participated in both events. The hackathon still continues for another 6 weeks, so go and use your skills to grab something from +$190k in bounties sponsored by leading projects or +$150k in prize pool from the Polkadot Treasury.

Speakers at the conference were mostly the representatives from major parachain projects on both Polkadot and Kusama, talking about various different Web3-related topics, such as:

Dan Reecer / Acala: An overview of aUSD
Tomaz Levak / OriginTrail: The Google of Web3 on Polkadot
Bryan Chen / Acala: The Future of DApp development
Alexei Zamyatin / Interlay: Radically open Bitcoin for parachains
Maarten & Hoon Kim / Astar: Introduction into Astar Network
Francisco Agosti / Moonbeam: Bootstrapping an Ethereum-compatible and Interoperable Ecosystem in Polkadot
Christine Mohan / KILT: Built on KILT: An Identity Layer for Polkadot Enterprise Applications

Bryan Chen from Acala Network with his speech “The future of dApp development” at the AmsterDOT conference

Our thanks go to everyone who participated and especially to the HydraDX team for organizing this amazing event!

2. Litentry won the 15th auction on Polkadot

Litentry has won the most recent parachain slot auction with sequence number 15. The parachain raised 943k DOT in the crowdloan, so even more than the previous winner Unique Network. Litentry raised those funds from 3463 contributors.

Litentry is a cross-chain decentralized identity (DID) aggregator and user activity data management infrastructure. Litentry has its own DID indexing mechanism and a Substrate-based credit computation network, that both together provide a decentralized, interoperable identity aggregation service that mitigates the difficulty of resolving agnostic DID mechanisms. Due to that Litentry enables managing users' identities and dApps obtain the real-time reputation of an identity owner across various different blockchains.

3. Dora Factory won the 33rd auction on Kusama

Dora Factory is the winner of the 33rd parachain auction on the Kusama network by raising 13.5k KSM from 361 contributors.

Dora Factory is the DAO-as-a-service infrastructure for decentralized governance and open-source ventures. It will allow services such as quadratic funding, Multisig pallet or Moloch DAO pallet.

4. Karura announced the first phase of EVM+

At the AmsterDOT conference, Bryan Chen announced the first phase of the EVM+ on Karura (the private release), which will be launched this week with the launch of the Wormhole bridge. The Karura’s public EVM+ release will result within 4–6 weeks after the private EVM+ launch.

EVM+ is the combination of EVM and the Substrate environment and firstly will be deployed on Karura followed by Acala deployment.

5. Moonriver introduced a new XC-20 standard for tokens

Moonriver recently introduced a new token standard for the Dotsama ecosystem. XC-20 is the new cross-chain token standard that conforms to the ERC-20 standard for EVM compatibility, but on the other hand, those tokens are native to the Substrate framework.

XC-20 standards were available firstly for Moonriver and later will be on also for Moonbeam. The first XC-20 token on Moonriver was xcKSM, an XC-20 representation of the native KSM token. XC-20 token standard enables cross-chain interoperability to the EVM dApps.

6. Polkadotters released the first Governance news

We decided to release Polkadot Governance News, which tracks upcoming, ongoing and executed referenda and proposals. From all the main chains including parachains, so not just from the Polkadot network!

Consider supporting us by the nomination of your tokens to Kusama or Polkadot validator going by the POLKADOTTERS name.
