Polkadotters: Who we are
We are two guys from Czech republic who discovered Polkadot during summer of 2020 — and immediately fell in love with the idea of the internet of blockchains. We decided to take our chances and started Czech/Slovakia Polkadot community and write for the wider audience in English at the same time.
So, almost a year has passed and to our own surprise, we are still here, writing new content and backing up our community :-)
Who are Polkadotters? We are!
There are two guys behind the Polkadotters — Petr Mensik and Pavel Kahoun. Petr spent his entire life working as a programmer (employed and freelancing later on), he discovered Bitcoin in 2017 and immediately went down the rabbit hole to study everything there is to understand its technology. Pavel, on the other hand, works in marketing and he founder well-known portal https://www.blockchainfo.cz/. So it begun as a nice alliance between technical oriented guy and a skilled promoter who knows how the tough world of marketing works :-)
So we started with translation of basic articles, then moved on to writing our own guides for staking, auctions and crowdloans. We have also covered most of the project in the Polkadot space and we are proud that we have never been paid for marketing — meaning that we are always honest in our articles and we write only about stuff we feel its important for the entire ecosystem.
Later on, we also started to run our validator nodes for different Substrate-based blockchains in order to enhance security and support decentralization.
To this moment, we are validators of Polkadot, Kusama, Darwinia, Crab, HydraDX, StaFi, and Centrifuge. We are still struggling to get enough nominations on most chains but hey, nobody said it’s going to be easy :-)
All under the name of POLKADOTTERS!
Recently we decided to take a huge step and create an alliance with the most respected communities in the whole space — PromoTeam and Stakenode. The main purpose is to help with decentralization of the network by creating a safe space for nominators where all questions are welcomed and supporting small validators who work for the community but don’t have enough nominators.
We believe this could be a nice synergy between these two groups and it has a huge potential to help the network as a whole! But our journey just begun, let’s see where it’s going to take us in the following years :-)
